Headteacher's Welcome
Welcome to our Collaboration of two small primary schools in the beautiful Chew Valley. Both schools have a warm family atmosphere, where every child is cared for and feels that they are known and valued for the unique person that they are.
We place an equal emphasis both on our children being happy and achieving the best they possibly can in everything they do. We place a high value on standards of teaching and learning in core skills such as English and Maths and also on developing the children’s knowledge and skills across all areas of the curriculum.
We know all of our children very well as individuals and strive to ensure that they all reach their potential in every aspect of their development. We know that children learn best when they are happy, feel safe, and are stimulated by exciting activities.
Our highly skilled teachers and teaching assistants provide creative and inspirational activities across the whole curriculum and continually develop the children’s learning and life skills such as cooperation, perseverance, and resilience.
Our schools are set in rural communities which gives our children lots of opportunities for outdoor learning. We have excellent links with our local community and welcome volunteers into our schools.
Our Collaboration ethos nurtures our children to be supportive, respectful, and well-mannered, as well as giving them confidence and a positive self-image. Education is about partnerships, and strong, committed partnerships between our schools, our parents and other local schools play a crucial role in children’s positive development into young adults. We work together to give your child the best start in life.
Both schools are rated as GOOD by Ofsted (2023). Our website offers a glimpse into the life of each school. Please contact us if you would like to find out more.
